Yunomine Onsen is located in between Akagi-goe and Dainichi-goe on Nakahechi route "The Imperial Route to Kumano" of Kumano Kodo pilgrimage network. The Dainichi-goe route is a short (3.5 km/2.17 miles) but relatively steep trail over Mt. Dainichi that links Kumano Hongu Taisha with Yunomine Onsen. It takes about 70~100 minutes including breaks.
There are no trains running inland in the southern part of the Kii Peninsula, so you will have to take a bus to reach Yunomine Onsen. Information is as of March 31, 2022.
